Marking a Contact as a Service Account

A project might want to mark a contact as a service account, meaning it will only be visible to the primary administrator. This is useful for integration with other systems. The primary administrator can assign the service account to a new contact or an exisiting contact in the Address book Contacts register and can also remove the service account setting from a contact if required.

If the project administrator wants to remove the Service Account feature, they must contact InEight.

Mark a contact as a service account

Summary: Mark a contact as a service account when the account does not need to be visible to users. The contact remains in the project, but it is only available to the primary administrator.

Considerations: After the service account is assigned, other users who sign into the project cannot view the contact in the Contacts register.

  1. From the Module Menu, hover over Address book and select Contacts.
Contacts selection in Address Book from Module menu

  2. Select the user.

  3. Scroll down and select the Service account check box.

  4. Select additional options for the service account.

    • Select the Disable password update check box when logging into API check box to be able to sign in to an API without receiving password updates.

    • Select the Disable 2FA check box when logging into API check box to disable two-factor authorization when signing in to an API.

    • Select the API only check box to make the service account API only. When this option is selected, the account cannot sign in via the web browser or mobile application and can only sign in and access Document via APIs.
