You can add comments to documents and control the fields visible at the comment or comment response level. You also can control the fields that are present or required at either a comment or comment response level, so you can present different fields as needed. Contact InEight customer support at support@ineight.com for information about configuring different fields for each type.
You can add comments to a document from the documents registeror the PDF viewer. Both methods open the New comment dialog box.
Item number | Name | Use |

1 | Plain text | Lets you switch from the default rich text to plain text. Rich text lets you use text formatting. Plain text has no formatting and can be read with any text editor. If you switch to plain text, any formatting you have made to the message is lost. |
2 | Formatting tools | Standard text formatting tools for font style, font size, color, and other formats. |
3 | Text area | Add your comments here. You can use the at symbol (@) to mention a user in the comments. |
4 | Category | The priority of the comments. You can select from High, Normal, or Low. |
5 | Tags | Lets you add tags to help with identification and filtering of comments. |
6 | Available to | Lets you specify whether the comment is limited to the company or available to all. |
7 | Raised by | The company and the user that raised the comment. |
8 | Send document comments to | Lets you specify whether to send the comments directly to the originator, document recipients, or both. |
9 | Attach file | Lets you attach a file to the comments. |
Summary: Add detailed comments from any document in the documents register.
Select the document in the Register.
Click Actions and select Comments. The New Comment dialog box opens.
Enter the comment details. You can optionally attach additional files or download the current files attached to the document.
Click Save. The comments are added to the document. If you mentioned a user using the @ symbol, Document sends an email notification that shows the location of the comment and the comment text to the mentioned user.
What's next: You can view the comment from the Comments tab or from the Comments & Annotations panel in the viewer.

From the File viewer, click the Comments icon. The Comments & Annotations slide-out panel opens.
Click the New Comment icon. The New Comment dialog box opens.
