Responding to and Forwarding Transmittals

The transmittals Inbox folder stores all notifications received from other users via the Packages module. You can respond to transmittals directly from the inbox.

Respond to a transmittal

Summary: Respond to a transmittal.

Considerations: Based on user access, a transmittal is marked as read if at least one recipient in the company or department has opened the transmittal in the department or company view. Also, if there are multiple recipients from a company or department on the transmittal, only one instance of the transmittal shows in the Inbox folder.

  1. Select the transmittal.

  2. Click Reply, and then select the type of mail if more than one is available.

  3. Enter the reply details

  4. Click Send. Replies are automatically linked to the original transmittal.

Mark a transmittal as responded to

To indicate that a recipient has responded to a transmittal, update the Response date from the Sent Items page, either at a transmittal or recipient level.

If you want to mark multiple transmittals as responded to, you can select them in the Sent Items folder, click Mark as, and then select Responded.

The Mark as responded dialog box opens. You can then select the responded date and indicate whether to update the response received dates that have not been updated.

Forward transmittals

Summary: Forward a transmittal to another user so that it is accessible from their inbox.

  1. Select the transmittal.

  2. Click Forward.

  3. In the To field, enter one or more recipients.

  4. Click Send.
