Create a Form Type

TRANSCRIPT

This video demonstrates how to create a form type. To begin, click here and select the forms module. Next, click on Actions, hover over Admin, and choose Configure Form Types. A list of current form types will appear. Click here to create a new type. Please note, you'll need to have Form Builder enabled on your project to create a new form type. Please contact InEight for assistance.

Chapter: Setting Up Form Details

Start by entering the form type and its title. The initiator section is automatically included. This section captures essential details, such as the date and the user who initiated the form. These project related drop downs can be rearranged in the initiator section. This section displays the available layout types for building the form.

Chapter: Adding Sections to the Form

Two key components you may choose to add are the Lot section and the Submittal section. If either of these sections are included, they must be completed by the initiator and will function independently from the rest of the form. You can define any number of additional sections to suit the specific requirements of your form. In this example, we are creating a non conformance report. So the first section we need is the investigation step. Drag and drop the section into the form. Update the section header. And click here to go back. Each section will automatically capture the company, user, and date of completion. Now, drag and drop control types to customize the section.

Chapter: Customizing Control Types

Common control types include single and multiline text boxes, drop down lists, check boxes, etc. For this example, we add a multiline text box, provide a caption to guide the user, and set it as mandatory. If you add a drop down list, be sure to update the caption for the control, which will be shown here. Then, click here to add options to the drop down list. You can add as many options as necessary, and set the order in which they appear. If needed, you can set a default value for the drop down. Some key control types that can be used on your form include: Existing field.

Chapter: Utilizing Existing Fields

Use this option to import fields from previously created forms. This saves you time by allowing you to reuse fields instead of recreating ones that already exist.

Chapter: Dynamic Tables

Dynamic table. You can add multiple controls to a section in a table format. Arrange how they will look and control the column width of each element in the table.

Chapter: Signature Controls

Signature. This control allows users to capture a live signature directly within the form, whether it's being completed in the Innate app or through a web browser. At any point during form creation, you can preview your form by clicking here. If changes were made to the form or if it has not yet been saved, you'll be prompted to save before previewing.

Chapter: Previewing and Publishing the Form

Now you can view a preview of your form before it's published. Once satisfied with your form, click here to publish it and make it available for your project. Here you'll see the newly created form type and you can further configure it. For guidance on configuring these options, please refer to the 'Form Setup Essentials' video in the 'Document Enhance' section of the knowledge library.

Chapter: Editing Published Forms

Once a form has been published, it is possible to edit it to add and remove fields. Please be aware that these changes will only apply to newly created forms and will not impact any form that is already in progress. After closing the admin screen, the newly created form will be ready to use.

Chapter: Finalizing Access and Security

Ensure that the security groups are updated with the required access to the form type. Well, that shows you how to create a form type. Thanks for watching.
