Video - InEight Document Enhanced - Import Bulk Configuration Data

Welcome to InEight Document.

This video demonstrates how to import bulk configuration data into InEight Document as an administrator.

First, select the gear icon.

Then click here to open the admin area.

If the configuration table menu option is not visible here, then you do not have the required permissions to access it. And need to contact your project administrator.

Next, click here to open the configuration tables menu area.

To import configuration data, first download the import template by clicking actions.

Then here, to open the import bulk configuration data screen.

Multiple project data tables can be imported using the same template.

But in this case, I'll just be adding five additional levels to the areas field.

Click here to download the project import template.

Then open the project template in Excel.

The template has each of the different configuration tables on the project listed below as separate sheets.

Each sheet contains the columns required to fill in each configuration table listed with a heading for each value on the table.

Now populate each column with a data to be imported.

I'll add the next five floors to the area data table, giving each and area code and title.

To use data from an existing InEight Document project, use the export function from the relevant configuration tables in that project and copy the data from the exported Excel sheet into the import template excel sheet.

If there is a dependency relationship between two configuration data tables on your project, such as area and sub area.

Please contact your project delivery consultant for more information.

Since duplicate titles can be imported, make sure that all codes are unique and duplicates are removed. Before bulk uploading the configuration metadata.

Once all the data has been added to the template excel sheet, Save it to your computer and close or exit the file.

Back in the import bulk configuration data screen, click here.

And either browse for the data template or just drag and drop it into this area and click upload.

The template will then be validated and any errors or missing mandatory data will be highlighted.

Fix any errors from this screen and click validate to make sure the errors are fixed.

To complete the import process, click save.

This notification will be displayed.

Stating the data has been imported.
