Video - InEight Document Enhanced - Searching Registers

TRANSCRIPT

Welcome to InEight Document.

This video demonstrates how to conduct searches and use register filters.

First, navigate to the relevant module, in this case, mail.

You can do a quick search by entering your search term here, then pressing enter, or clicking here.

The results show all mail containing this search term in any field.

Before studying a new search, it's important to remember to click here to clear the current search query.

Another way to search is by using a combination of column filters.

To show this, I'm going to switch to the document register by navigating up here, choosing the document module, and then selecting the document register To view architectural drawings, for example, I can filter by discipline, and document type like this.

Since my default view is latest unrestrained, the results show all the latest unrestrained architectural drawings.

To show all available revisions, change latest unrestrained to all.

Once finished, to clear these column filters, I click here.

Lastly, to perform more complex searches, use the filter sort function.

This opens a window here that can be used to build complex searches using a combination of details.

Let's recreate the previous search for architectural drawings.

Except this time, also filter for drawings recorded after a particular date.

First, I'll select the discipline.

Then the equals operator, and finally, architectural as the value.

Then on the next row, I'll filter by type where the value is equal to drawing.

Lastly, I'll filter by date recorded, to locate documents recorded after a particular date.

Since I finished, I'll click apply.

Here are the search results.

Notice, filter sort has changed color to indicate it's in use.

If I also want to sort by a particular field within these results, I can just select that column field like this from the register.

If this is a frequently used search, it can be saved by clicking views, and selecting save view as.

A previous saved search can be loaded or edited by selecting that view from here as well.

Finally, To return to your default register view, click here and all search filters will be cleared.

As shown by the filter sort option returning to blue.

Well, that's how to use InEight Document search functionality Thanks for watching.
