Default Settings

Open the XL-Upload application located on your desktop. This opens an empty work sheet with a new XL-Upload menu.

If you are using an older version of Microsoft Excel, you must set your Microsoft Excel’s Macro Security to Medium (Tools \ Macros \ Security).

When you open XL-Upload for the first time, you must complete some configuration information (default settings) prior to using the program. This establishes your user information and identifies the project you are working on.

Update default settings

  1. If you are opening XL-Upload for the first time, the default settings window opens automatically. You can also open this window by clicking Defaults from the XL-Upload menu.

  2. Update the following required fields:

    • InEight Document Server: Select your server from the drop-down menu. You can find this information in the web address that you use to log in. For example, www.teambinder.com.
    • InEight Document User ID: Enter the User ID that you use to log in to Document.
    • InEight Document Company ID: Enter the Company ID that you use to log in to Document.

If your company uses single sign-on, select this option under Login Details, and then enter your corporate email address.

    • Project Number: Enter the Project ID number.
    • File Name Format (Optional): Allows you to automatically extract available document attributes from the file name of the document. To use this feature, the file name mapping needs to be set up in the XL-Upload Defaults. See Setting Up File Name Formats for more information.
    • File Formats and Methods of Extracting Attributes: XL-Upload enables you to extract attributes from Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), and PDF files in addition to AutoCAD DWG files. See Attribute Extraction for more information.

  3. Click OK. You are then prompted to enter your Document login details.
