GET FEEDBACK

Use Case

The scheduler details out activities for a portion of the pipe work and then reaches out to the Piping Field Engineer, Superintendent and Foreman to have them review the activities. The Piping team makes several suggestions about the duration and sequence of the activities.

This section covers how the scheduler can use InEight Schedule to solicit schedule feedback and how subject matter experts can use the Markup View of the same tool to provide feedback.

Get Feedback to Validate the Plan

Start Review Cycle

As the scheduler, you can bring in Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and other project stakeholders to validate the schedule details and increase its accuracy.  To start this process, first assign contributors and then initiate the review cycle.

Assign Contributors

Contributors can be team members from within your organization or stakeholders who are not regular users of InEight Schedule.

Follow the steps below to see an example of how this works.

Step 1

In this case, you want to solicit feedback on a portion of the pipe work from the Piping team.

You click on the WBS item that corresponds to this part of the schedule.

SMEs Provide Feedback

As a project SME, you receive an email which invites you to provide feedback on a section of the schedule. The link provided takes you to the Markup view, where you can see the relevant area of the schedule.

Markup contributors will only see the schedule items that have been assigned to them.

After reviewing the durations, logic, and timeline, you’re ready to provide feedback. You can input your feedback for each individual activity by adjusting the Start Date, Finish Date, or Remaining Duration. Whether your values are similar to the current schedule or markedly different, it’s a best practice to input your best suggestion exactly. This will help the scheduler increase accuracy and validate the schedule.

Input Values
