During construction, damage to the job site causes a delay related to a subcontractor’s scope of work. The superintendent takes photos and adds an issue to the daily plan in InEight Progress. An official notice is sent to the vendor with a request for a solution.
The following example shows one way an issue on site can be logged, tracked, and shared with vendors:

Damage to the site will cause a delay. The superintendent takes photos and adds an issue to the daily plan in InEight Progress. The issue is automatically logged in InEight Change, along with the photos captured by the superintendent. |
The superintendent follows up on the issue in InEight Change. He wants to send an official notice to the vendor, so he creates a "Notice of Delay" mail item. The mail item integrates with InEight Document and is sent to the vendor with a request for a solution. |
InEight Document manages the correspondence related to the Notice of Delay mail item. The photos captured on site are visible, and a link to the issue in InEight Change is automatically included. The superintendent wants to stay on top of the correspondence, so he'll add the mail to the Supporting Documents register in InEight Change. This way he can esily reference it as he manages project issues. |
Issues live in InEight Change, but they can be accessed and modified across the InEight Project Suite. This ensures that new information, such as photos and notes captured on site, correspondence between team members, and official forms are always tracked with the issue. One of the most common ways of communicating with vendors and staying aligned on key concerns is by using forms in InEight Document. As part of the form process, issues can be created for items that warrant further inspection (normally ones that may result in added cost or schedule impacts).
Once an issue has been created, you can create project correspondence directly from the issue, (powered by the Mail Module of InEight Document) to make sure the appropriate stakeholders are kept up to date.
As the issue is managed, additional items, such as documents, mail, forms, photos, or videos, can be linked to the Supporting Documents tab in InEight Change.
