Video - InEight Plan - Add Details to Installation Work Packages

TRANSCRIPT

Welcome to InEight Plan. This video demonstrates how and where to add details to an installation work package. Work packages allow you to break down a work plan into more manageable sizes of work. There are often one to four weeks worth of work, and within each package, you can assign the labor, components, equipment, material, and other aspects you need to complete the work.

Within Plan Work Packaging, you can select Add installation work package. The installation work package opens to an Overview tab, where you can add package specifics like its location, discipline, type of work, risk level, as well as start and end dates, status updates, assigned personnel, and more. On the Workspace tab, add the data blocks you need to organize and detail out your plan for executing the work package. Then you can add, organize, and manage details from the data blocks themselves.

Data blocks allow you to capture information at a more detailed level, like hold points on sequence steps. You can add details in two ways. You can do so manually on each data block, or you can add resources available on project and organizational levels through assigned WBS codes. Note that you can add attachments like an image or a linked document as well.

As a best practice, create a saved viewset so you can jump back to your customized view. Once you've prepared your data blocks on the Workspace tab, you're ready to create a daily plan. Click here to create a daily plan with the data and resources you've prepared. Review the plan details and make any changes as needed.

You can also add details to your daily plan manually by clicking the Daily Plan icon. If you see problematic components, you can flag them by clicking on the Constraint icon. This will automatically add them to the Constraint Management tab, where you can assign constraint due dates, responsible parties, and manage status updates. Finally, you can add, edit, and share installation work package documents from the Documents tab.

Notice that any documents you add through your data blocks are captured here as well, and as documents are updated, you can get the latest information by looking for the revision number, modifier, and date of modification. Now you've learned how to add key details to your installation work package, and you're ready to create daily plans that can be tracked in InEight Progress. Thanks for watching!
