Welcome to InEight Plan. In this video, you'll learn how to claim quantities directly through the Quantity Tracking module of plan. For the most part, you'll claim quantities in the field through the Daily Planning module in Progress, but at times, you may need to claim quantities without using a daily plan. For example, you may need to add something that was missed out in the field or make an adjustment to an existing quantity.
To claim a quantity for a single component, select the component and the Edit icon from the toolbar. The Edit activity component slide-out panel will open to the Claiming tab, where you can see the claiming scheme steps. For this component, check the Completed checkbox for the steps that have been completed. Note that the Date, Installed quantity, and Period quantity fields populate automatically when you select the Complete box.
Installed quantity is the total quantity installed to date, while the Period quantity is the quantity installed for this entry. If a claiming scheme step is still in progress, skip the Complete check box and enter the amount completed so far under This period quantity. As a best practice, you can indicate an approver and an executor for these quantities. When finished, click Save.
Note that the percentage complete updates for this component in the blue circle and This period quantity fields are reset back to zero for a new entry. If the amount claimed is greater than the allocated amount, you may get an error message, or if your project settings allow overclaiming, the amount will be saved and a warning indicator will appear next to that quantity. At times, you may need to claim multiple components at once. On this data block view, use the step data blocks to claim multiple components without going into component records individually.
This makes quantity claiming much more efficient. Notice that the data blocks are grouped by claiming scheme step. Check the Complete box to claim the step for multiple components. Then click Save to save your claimed quantities.
On the Claiming History tab, you can see previous claiming entries, including who made the entry, who the approver and executor were, and what the quantity increment was. You can also check whether the claiming came from daily plans in the field or from an entry in the Quantity Tracking module. The Component Details tab contains information pertinent to that component, usually defined when the component is created or imported into Plan. When finished, close the slide out panel.
Notice you can see the percent complete on the grid view as well. Now you can claim quantities directly through the Quantity Tracking module of Plan. Thanks for watching!
