Video - InEight Plan - Claiming Scheme Creation

TRANSCRIPT

Welcome to InEight Plan. In this video, you'll learn how to set up a new claiming scheme in the Quantity Tracking module. A claiming scheme is a formula used to record progress. As quantities are installed, the installation sequence is broken down into steps or milestones, and assigned a completion percentage based on the level of effort to complete each step.

This allows you to progressively track progress as phases of construction are completed on a daily or weekly basis. To create and manage claiming schemes, click on the Actions menu and select "Manage claiming schemes." This takes you to the Disciplines and Claiming Schemes page. You can create claiming schemes to track both construction activities organized by discipline and commodities.

New claiming schemes will be organized in a parent-child relationship with the disciplines and commodities set up in the Master Data Libraries. Let's create a new claiming scheme from scratch. First, select the discipline or commodity that your claiming scheme will fall under. Then click "Add."

Input a name for the new claiming scheme. As a default, new claiming schemes contain one step. Click "Add steps" to add more steps to your claiming scheme. Fill in the information for each step as needed.

Claiming schemes are designed to break down the overall scope of work into more manageable portions. To use claiming schemes effectively, aim for three to five steps for each sequence, or about a week's worth of work. Note that if the percentages do not add up to 100%, an error indicator will appear. Set the total to 100%, then click "Save."

Now your claiming scheme appears under its parent discipline or commodity, and it's ready to be assigned to a component. Once your claiming schemes are set up, you can also import or export them between projects. To export specific claiming schemes to another project, first, select the claiming schemes and then click here. Make sure to only send your selected claiming schemes, or you can export all claiming schemes, or import all from another project.

Now you've learned how to set up claiming schemes in Quantity Tracking. Thanks for watching!
