Welcome to InEight Plan. In this video, you'll learn how to manage claiming schemes in the Quantity Tracking module. To get started, select the Actions menu in Quantity Tracking. Select "Manage claiming schemes."
Once you've created a claiming scheme, the next step is to assign it. You can assign a claiming scheme directly to a component or at the WBS level. To assign a claiming scheme directly to a component, open the Component Details tab. Select the parent discipline or commodity, and choose a claiming scheme.
Or, if your project settings allow claiming schemes to be assigned at the WBS level, you can assign a WBS phase code to your claiming scheme. This way, every component assigned to that WBS will inherit the same claiming scheme. This can be a faster option when working with a large number of components. To assign at the WBS level, select a claiming scheme from the component page and click "Assign now."
Click "Add" to add a claiming scheme from the available list. When finished, click "Done." Note that you can assign multiple WBS codes to one claiming scheme. The WBS phase code you selected is now assigned to your claiming scheme, and any components assigned to this WBS will inherit that claiming scheme.
To edit an existing claiming scheme, return to the disciplines and claiming schemes page. Select a claiming scheme and click "Edit." You can modify existing steps or create new steps for your claiming scheme. Now you can manage claiming schemes in Quantity Tracking, and you're ready to claim quantities for your components.
