Custom Project Values

TRANSCRIPT

Welcome to InEight Plan. In this video, you'll learn how to add custom project values in Quantity Tracking.

In addition to summary-level information, there are a variety of details and attributes that can be associated to components.

If you have additional details that need to be tracked with components, you can create custom project values.

Add project value type

To get started, from the Main menu, select Master Data Libraries.

Select Project Value Types.

Note, you must have the correct permissions to access and modify this page.

To add a new project value type, click the Add icon.

Input the details, then click Save.

Now the project value type is available for use.

Assign value type to project

With the value type created, the next step is to assign it at the project level.

Open a project and select Assigned Project Value Types.

Click [Assign project value types to project] to assign a new value type.

Select the value type, then click Add.

Configure

Return to the project menu and select Project Values.

Here you can view the value types assigned to the project and configure the specific values.

Select the new value type to set up its values.

Click the Add icon to add a value.

Enter the details, then click Save.

Continue adding values as needed.

Use values in Quantity Tracking

Let's move to Plan Quantity Tracking to see these project values.

You can enter the project values for a specific component under Component Details.

You can also add the Project Value column to the Standard Grid view to track these values across components.

With the column added to your view in Quantity Tracking, these values are also available through the Excel export.

Now you've learned how to add custom project values in Quantity Tracking.

Thanks for watching.
