Video - InEight Plan - Generate Package

TRANSCRIPT

In this video, you'll learn how to generate and update work packages in Document From InEight Plan. When you create a new IWP, it will open under the Overview tab. Here you will complete the necessary information for your IWP. In the top right corner, you'll see two buttons with the Generate package button highlighted.

When you select this button, it sends a request to create the same work package in InEight Document. When Generate package is grayed out, this shows the package was created in Document successfully. Under Manage workspace, you can add equipment, labor, safety, or other components to the work package along with their resource details. If needed, you can generate a report for the work package.

Messages will appear as the report is generated. Once completed, the last message will appear letting you know that the report is ready for approval. From the Documents tab, you can access the package in InEight Document. You see that the linked document package is listed here.

When you select this link, it'll open the package you just generated in InEight Document back in InEight Plan. While you have your IWP still open, you can add drawings or other documents, which you'll need to execute the work. Right click to open the window and click Add. The Link document window opens to allow you to add a file.

You can add a document from your computer or from InEight Document. If you select InEight Document, you can search all the documents such as related drawings and specifications that are live in Document. Once you've selected the documents you need, click Save. The related documents are now referenced here with links to view them in Document if needed.

Let's click the link to go back again to the corresponding work package in InEight Document. On the Documents tab, you see those documents are automatically added to the work package in InEight Document as well. One thing to note: back in InEight Plan, if you add a document under an IWP from your local drive, instead of from InEight Document, it will not appear under the work package in Document. So if you want your documents to show up on the work package in InEight Document, make sure to select them from InEight Document, so the work packages in InEight Plan and InEight Document stay in sync.

You have now learned how to create and update work packages in InEight Document from InEight Plan. Thanks for watching!
