Welcome to InEight Plan. In this video, you'll learn how to use account codes to quickly map WBS codes to claiming schemes.
In InEight Plan, claiming schemes can be associated to components through a WBS code.
WBS codes are set up in InEight Control, where each code corresponds to a unique cost item.
Your organization may also have account codes set up in Control for higher level tracking and reporting purposes.
If you're starting a new project or setting up an additional scope of work, you may have a number of claiming schemes that need to be associated to WBS codes.
You can add WBS codes to claiming schemes individually, or you can use account code assignments to add multiple WBS codes at once.
Since account codes are set up at the organization level, this can be helpful for ensuring standardization across projects.
To get started, make sure the correct setting is enabled in your project settings.
From Quantity Tracking, you can access your claiming schemes from the Actions menu.
Note, if you're starting a new project, you can import claiming schemes from an existing project.
This will bring in claiming schemes with their associated account codes.
Let's see the mapping function in action.
Select a claiming scheme.
You'll see the claiming scheme steps that will be assigned to components.
Here on the Assigned WBS tab, we see that this claiming scheme is not assigned to any WBS codes.
On the Assign Account Code tab, we can see that this claiming scheme has one account code associated to it.
Note that you can add or remove account code associations from this tab.
Let's use this account code to bring in the WBS assignments.
With the claiming scheme selected, select the Map Account Code to WBS icon from the top toolbar.
Select Assign All to assign every associated WBS code.
Note that if a WBS is already linked to another claiming scheme, this operation will replace that existing link.
In this case, WBS 1091 has been manually assigned to the Erect Steel claiming scheme.
However, the account code for 1091 is associated to the Field Welding claiming scheme.
So, the Assign All operation will replace this WBS link.
You can choose Assign All Unassigned to assign only WBS codes that do not currently have a WBS assignment.
With this option, any WBS codes that have been assigned to another claiming scheme will maintain their assignment.
In this case, WBS 1093 has been manually assigned to the Bolted Connections claiming scheme.
The account code is assigned to Erect Steel, but we'll keep the assignment as is.
These operations can be performed for multiple claiming schemes at once, saving you time and ensuring consistency in your project.
Now you've learned how to use account codes to map WBS codes to claiming schemes. Thanks for watching.
