Video - InEight Plan - Quantity Tracking Navigation

TRANSCRIPT

Welcome to InEight Plan. In this video, we'll explore the Quantity Tracking module, including page actions, toolbar options, and view sets. From the Actions menu, you can manage claiming schemes, define values for your construction area and projects, and review the import history of your components. You also have access to the Component Audit Log, where you can view recent changes to the components.

Note that along with the Actions menu, you have a toolbar that contains icons on the left and right. The toolbar icons on the left are action icons that perform functions for specific items you've selected. While the toolbar icons on the right perform functions that apply to the overall list of items. From the Add icon, you can create new components.

Note that the Edit and Delete icons are graded out by default. When you select a component by checking the box on the left, the options to edit and delete the component are now available. The Quantity Tracking homepage contains two ways to view your list of components. Currently, you're on the Data Blocks view, where your components are grouped together by claiming scheme step.

In the Data Blocks view, you can also customize your columns and component steps by clicking on these icons. From the toolbar on the right, click the View As icon to switch to the Standard view. The Standard Grid view organizes your component info into a traditional spreadsheet view of rows and columns. Note at the bottom of the screen, there are indicators showing the current number of selected items.

Here you can click "view selected" to view those items separately. This helps to focus on those items which need attention. You can toggle between these two views at any time by clicking on this icon. You'll likely have many components to claim against for your project.

From the toolbar, the Export icon offers a downloadable Excel template that you can fill out, and the Import icon allows you to bring in those components from your completed template. Once you have all your components imported and organized to your liking, you can create a saved view of your page so that you can always revert back to it. The saved view is called a "view set." Each view is user specific and can be used from plan to plan.

View sets do not, however, carry over from the Standard Grid view to the Data Block view, or vice versa. Now you've learned to navigate the Quantity Tracking module of InEight Plan. Thanks for watching!
