Video - InEight Plan - Work Packaging Navigation

TRANSCRIPT

Welcome to InEight Plan. In this video, you'll learn how to navigate the Work Packaging module. From the Work Packaging module of InEight Plan, you can break down projects into small scopes of work that can be easily tracked and managed. From the Work Packages tab, you can view and organize all of your work packages by construction work area.

Switch to the Planning Schedule tab to see a Gantt chart view of your work packages. Here you can see when plans are scheduled to be executed in the field along with the progress of current work packages. This will help you track when work planning needs to be completed and plan resources effectively. Back on the Work Packages tab, there are two ways to view your list of work packages.

On the Block view, you can see your work packages organized into cards. Click the View As icon to switch back to the Grid view, which is organized into a traditional spreadsheet format of rows and columns. The work package register contains columns such as your start and end dates, the engineer or superintendent, and the estimated risk. On the far right of the column header, select the Column Chooser icon.

From here, you can add or remove columns from the register. You can narrow the list of work packages in your view by using the Query Builder in the Grid view. You can also filter information by clicking the Filter Pyramid icon. Now that you've seen the options for viewing your work packages, let's see how to work at a more detailed level.

In your toolbar, click the Actions menu to configure construction work areas and view work package import history. On the Configure CWA and project values page, you can define values for categories such as construction area, commodity, and turnover. Over on the Work package import history page, you can review the status of any work package files you've imported. On the left side of your toolbar, you also have action icons that perform functions for specific work packages.

You can add, copy, delete, or reorganize your work packages. The toolbar icons on the right perform more general functions. From the right toolbar, click here to export an Excel template that you can then fill out for importing work packages. Click on the Show Details icon and a slide-out panel appears with key details for your selected work package.

Open a construction work package to view and manage its specifics like subordinate work packages, summary information, notes, and associated documents. On the left side panel, you'll see a summary of the work package, which is pulled from the Overview and Workspace tabs as well as associated components. Notice in the breadcrumbs, this installation work package falls under a construction work package, which is associated to a construction work area. Once associated, your project will maintain this hierarchical structure on every page.

Now you've learned how to navigate the Work Packaging module of Plan. Thanks for watching!
