Welcome to InEight Billings.
This video demonstrates how to create a rate table.
Rate tables include personal, equipment, and material rates which are used to calculate the charges for billable work.
A single rate table can be used for multiple projects, or you can also use project specific rates.
To create a new rate table, select project administration and then click here.
Here we can see a list of existing rate tables.
Click add row.
Now enter in the details for the new rate table.
Select the region here.
The status field is automatically set to active.
You can also add any notes here.
Click apply to save the rate table.
Next, we need to add some rates. Click this tab to enter in personal rates.
First, we need to add a new row and then enter in the rate record details.
Select the classification being assigned to the rate record.
Next, we need to enter in the effective date.
This is the date from when the billing rate will come into effect.
In this example, the billing rate will come into effect on March 2nd 2023.
Now let's enter in the next one. In this case, since we have a specific resource, we will select the individual from the resource column.
In this example, the rate will only apply when this combination of contractor is used with this classification.
It will not apply. Only the classification is used without selecting the specific contractor.
Click apply to save the records.
We've just received notice that one of the rate classifications we added will have a rate increase from this date.
To add the updated rates. Click add a new row.
Enter in the details as before and select the new effective date.
If we want to view the new rate, we need to set a view date to at least match the new effective date.
Don't forget to click apply to save the new record.
Now that we've added the record, the new rate will come into effect on the future date specified.
You can also specify rate codes for the entered classification.
This allows you to map classifications to your customer specific rate codes.
To enable entry of customer classification codes and rate codes, press the show rate code icon on the ribbon bar.
You can then enter a description here and rate codes for each resource or classification.
You can also enter the appropriate shift and unit of measure combination.
Now let's add some equipment rates by clicking on the next tab.
Enter in the rates to be used for the different earning classes.
Let's add some additional clarifications.
As we did with personal rates, you can also add specific rate codes if required.
Lastly, click on the next tab to add material rates.
Add a row and select the classification.
Then enter a code if required.
Next, select the resource that will be used.
Select the effective date rate record, Enter in the rate to be used for each unit of measure.
Remember that the rate effective as of date is a view of rates at a specific point in time and not actually the effective date of rates.
Well, that's a quick introduction on how to create rate tables. Thanks for watching.
