Import Rate Tables

Welcome to InEight Billings. This video demonstrates how to import a rate table.

With InEight Billings, you can create and maintain rate tables externally in a spreadsheet format and then import the rates into an existing or new rate table.

Using the Import Template

Before we can import the rates, we need to use the import template file. This file will be linked to at the end of this video.

The template allows us to import personnel, equipment, materials, and line items such as allowances and premiums.

Let's take a look at the general tab.

We will need to complete the following fields.

If you are importing to an existing rate table, then you need to make sure the rate table fields match.

In this example, we will be creating a new rate table.

Personnel Tab

Now, let's take a look at the personnel tab.

As you can see, the heading fields match those in InEight Billings.

You will need to ensure that the classifications you enter in the spreadsheet template already exist in the Innate Billings data library. You can check existing classifications by clicking data library, and then selecting a classification type.

Here we can see a list of personnel classifications.

Classification codes must match.

In addition, some of the fields in the template are mandatory.

You will need to complete at least one unit of measure to successfully import a rate table.

Equipment Rates

Since we have already entered in the personnel rates that we want to import, let's move on to the equipment tab.

Again, you need to make sure that at least one unit of measure is set before importing and that the classifications exist in the billings data library.

You can also add line items such as allowances and premiums by clicking on this tab.

Initiating the Import Process

Now that our spreadsheet is ready to go, let's import it to Innate Billings.

Select processes from the main menu. Here we can see the available import functions.

There is also a legacy import option, but in this video, we will focus on the standard import.

Click create table import.

Click create import.

Now select the template file to import by clicking here.

Then click submit.

The import request has now been submitted.

Monitoring Import Progress

The import process will take some time depending on the size of the rate table being imported.

To check the progress of our import, we can click process status.

Here we can see the imports that are currently in queue and the status of each.

Let's return to the rate table import screen and click refresh.

Verifying Import Success

This is our imported rate table here. We can click on it to check if there were any import errors. In this example, we can see that our template file has successfully imported without any errors.

Review of Rate Tables

Now let's go back to view all rate tables by clicking here.

Here we can see the new rate table that we just imported.

Lastly, let's make sure the fields match those in the template file.
