Welcome to InEight Change. In this video, you'll learn how to create detailed cost items and cost categories for your change orders within InEight Change.
This process streamlines the ability to create new detailed cost items using resources from the In Eight controls resource project library.
Start by navigating to the pricing tab in an existing issue in InEight change.
Open the pricing summary side tab and click cost item pricing.
Next, select the plus icon next to the menu.
From the menu, select add new cost item from the drop-down menu.
A new cost item slider window opens.
Make sure you're in the details tab. From here, you'll be creating a new detailed cost item.
Add a description, then select the cost source using detail and select a unit of measure and cost pricing option from each drop-down.
The adjusted cost will auto-calculate based on the values provided.
Next, click on the resources tab, and in the resources section, click on the plus icon to add resources.
A new window will open.
The information displayed holds resources from the InEight Control resource library. From within the appropriate resource tab, select the needed resources and click add.
The next step is to fill out the applicable information in the productivity and overall settings section.
The calculation for the cost item details section will show values for adjusted CB quantity with the unit of measure and overall adjusted costs.
Next, navigate to the cost categories tab, which displays the same cost categories found in an innate control.
Cost is automatically assigned to a cost category based on the cost pricing that's selected. For example, if labor and construction resources were added to the resources tab, the adjusted cost is shown in the cost category for both.
You can manually distribute costs across individual cost categories.
Click the apply button.
Then click the save button. The new cost item will be displayed with the overall adjusted cost.
With a cost item selected, you can also edit existing cost items. In this example, we're going to edit a cost item that comes from our current budget.
Now, the unit rate driver has changed to manual.
Each resource has a cost driver of fixed, cost item duration, or cost item quantity just like in control.
Cost driver and resource type determine which fields are editable for any given resource.
If any resource with a cost driver of CI duration exists, the productivity and overall settings section becomes editable.
A yellow indicator shows the last field that was updated.
Changes to productivity and overall settings follow the process as you would for a new cost item.
Well, that covers cost item pricing InEight change. Thanks for watching.
