In this Completion's HQ video, we'll cover how to ad hoc create a certificate. I'm already logged into Completion's HQ and I've selected the Certificate's module. You might notice I'm unable to create a new certificate, because certificates need to attach to a scope of work, which is frequently done through automapping, a function primarily done by a project admin. On your project role, you might not have the permission to create a certificate on your project.
If you have permission, you might have access to ad-hoc, create a certificate based on parent elements. If I took this construction tag and tried to add a certificate, it wouldn't be able to do it because a construction tag isn't typically a parent element. Something like a system or subsystem is. So from here, I could select a system and then add a certificate.
When I do that, I need to select a specific Certificate type. Now I can fill out all the information at the top, then click OK. You might be wondering why I want to create an ad-hoc certificate, let alone a "Ready for Energization" certificate. It's because I might need to partially certify a scope of work.
For example, maybe I want to turn on some of the permanent power so we can light up some of the lighting circuits or some of the utility power so we don't have to use temporary power generators on site for some of our tools... or even just for night shift working. Again, keep in mind, most project certification programs will be done by a project admin, and they'll figure out what Certificates map to what Element types, and how many are required. The final step we need to do is to click the Pending Updates button and to publish our changes. Once we do that, it'll create the certificate record.
Thanks for watching.
