In this video will cover how to create and scan QR codes to quickly navigate to different elements. We're starting within our project in the Elements module, and we've used the Hierarchy Filter to select a specific system. We've also selected an individual engineering tag. We click on the Reports button to create a PDF report.
Let's select a Summary Report. This results in a PDF report that has all the different Elements that were filtered to. And each one of these elements will have a specific QR Code associated to it. You could take each of those QR codes and physically apply them to each piece of equipment, so when you scan the code on an iPad using Completions Mobile, it'll navigate you to that specific piece of equipment.
Alternatively, you can create a single PDF for an individual piece of equipment. You can add or remove the options at the bottom, but most often you'll keep the "Use Alternative PDF Template" option. Once we save this to our computer, it'll look something like this. Let's say we're in the field, and that QR code has already been placed on the piece of equipment.
Since we're on our iPad, let's see how we pull up the QR code scanner to navigate to that specific element. In the Completions mobile app, you can see that we have the different modules located on the side. Within the Elements module, we're going to select the three dots at the top of the Elements, navigation and select Scan. That'll bring up the camera so we can scan the QR code.
When we do, it navigates us to that specific element so we can find the checklists, inspections, issues, history, attachments, or any other information linked against that element. Now you know how easy it is to create and scan QR codes to navigate quickly to different elements when in the field. Thanks for watching.
