In today's video, I'll show you how to reassign, reschedule, and edit within the Inspections module. To begin, I'm logged into Completions HQ and have already selected the Inspections module. Let's double click on this Multi-party Subsystem walk-down to select it. Here, I have the option to reassign, reschedule, or edit the inspection.
These buttons are only available to certain project roles during different statuses. For example, if this inspection were in a status of "Requested" and you were in construction, you might not be able to edit, reassign, or reschedule the information. That might be an operation, for example, only your quality team is allowed to do. Sometimes if you click any of these buttons, you'll get a "Permission Denied" -- or they might just be grayed out.
In that case, you'd need to talk to your project admin or someone with the appropriate authority necessary to make those changes for you. In this example, I'm going to reassign this inspection. It's currently assigned to the Client Team, but I'm gonna change it for this system walk down to the Quality Team. That way the Quality Team can review it first to make sure everything looks good before we put it in front of the client.
Because I created this assignment change, it created a history event, showing that I changed the assignment from the Client Team to the Quality Team. Additionally, I can reschedule this inspection. It's showing the date it's currently planned for, but I want to push it out another week. I can even change the time of the inspection as per the client request.
Then I add a description for the reassignment and click OK. That'll create another History Event to indicate the change along with the new Scheduled time. Finally, you can also edit an inspection. I had the option to change the metadata associated to this inspection.
Again, keep in mind, your project role might not allow you to do this. Assuming you do have the proper authority, you could add, for example, a subcontractor, click on Save, and then add a bit of a description and click OK. Then click Save again. As you'd imagine, another History Event was created with a description showing what was done.
Like always, our final step is to click on Pending Changes and Publish our changes. Once we do that, the changes we made are now available on the server for all other teams to interact with. More importantly, though, email notifications will have been sent out based on the reassignment and the rescheduling to the appropriate teams -- including the creator, requester, and the responsible team assignment., letting them know the changes have been made to this record.
That's their prompt to look at the details, confirm them, and change their own personal calendar. That's a recap of the edit, reassign, and reschedule functions within Completions. Thanks for watching.
