Video - InEight Completions (Legacy) - INSPECTIONS: 3 Creating and Linking an Inspection

TRANSCRIPT

In this video, we'll show you how to create and link an inspection to work items in the Inspections module. I'm starting within the Inspections module of the HQ application. I select Create New Inspection, and it's going to be a Hold Point Inspection type. I select a sub-type and schedule it for next week.

Then I assign it to a responsible team who am inviting to the inspection for the location. I'm choosing building #2 where the piece of equipment is, and this is going to be a Pump Coupling Hold Point Inspection. I'm selecting a Mechanical ITP reference and I'm also choosing a Subcontractor. That's all I'll need to fill out, but it'll be up to your project admin to determine the amount of metadata you'll need to complete.

Once I click OK, the inspection record is created. Now that the inspection record is created, there's still not a lot of context provided, so we're going to do just that by linking references to it. For example, I'll click on Elements, then Link Existing Elements. I'll search for the word Pump, to locate pumps 1 and 2 using the left-click on my mouse.

I'm also going to left-click on the pump one and two motor,s and select Link Selected Elements. It'll ask me if I want to link these four elements, and I'll click YES. And when it asks me if I want to Set Creator for the elements, I'll say NO. The elements weren't created by the inspections, so they don't need to have that value in there.

When I review the inspection, I can see what scope of work is detailed in here now by linking it to different elements. Let's say I also want to link some checklists as part of this wholepoint inspection. I'll search for the keyword "pump" and select both these Pump Installation Checklists. And I'll click on the Link Selected Checklist.

Now I can see I have both Elements and Checklist link for a specific time and with a specific group. Instead of creating a new ad-hoc inspection for the register, there is another way to approach this within elements. Let's say I want to do a system walkdown. I'll select my Flare System and my sub-system element.

Now I can select the Inspection button and Add An Inspection. I'm adding a final multi-party walk down inspection of a subsystem, and I'll schedule it for next Friday. The responsible team I want to come out is the Client Team, and it'll be in location 5. Once I click OK ,that multi-party inspection is scheduled for a specific date and time, and the client will be informed/ And when I go here, I can see that it's automatically linked to the sub-system.

As always, the last thing I want to do is click on Pending Updates and Publish. As a result, the two inspections that I made, as well as all of the links, are available for everyone else to see. But more importantly, now that I've created those inspections, once I publish my changes, the system will send email notifications to the Client Team for the system lockdown, and also for the Quality Team for the holdpoint inspection, letting them know these have been requested in the system. That's all for now.

Thanks for watching.
