Video - InEight Completions (Legacy) - INSPECTIONS: 4 Update Inspection Status

TRANSCRIPT

In this video, we'll cover how to update the statuses of our inspections. I'm already logged into the Completions HQ application and have selected the Inspections module. I'll start by looking at an inspection already assigned to me. This one is for pump coupling.

Before going through this workflow, let's clarify what a workflow is. While there are some out-of-the-box workflows, every InEight client will likely have different workflows set up for the different implementations of Completions. So in this case, the name of your workflow could be different, and the name of the statuses as well as what project roles can affect, it could also be different or uniquely set up for your project. In our example, this hold point inspection could have been requested by the construction or subcontractor team.

Once it's been requested, the QC role is the only role that's allowed to take it and either request to reschedule it, indicate they're solely attending, or request the owner to come out. Based on the type of inspection, I'm logged in as the quality team member, so when I click on Update Status, I'll see the different options. I could choose to request the owner to attend, to reschedule request, QC to attend, or to cancel the overall inspection. In this case, I'm going to review, as QC, what the scope of work is, what type of inspection it is, and I'll review the checklist that we're going to be executing.

I could even go into look at some of the details if they were expecting them to be pre-filled. Now, I can decide which option to choose. In our case, I'm going to say Owner Requested., and while you might need to select a team or multiple individuals, I'm going to specify the client team.

Add a description, and click OK. In the Inspection History, we can see the status has been updated from Requested to Owner Requested. When I publish my changes, it pushes my information to the server, and an email notification is sent to the client team to let them know they've been requested to attend the inspection. Let's pretend I'm now the Owner role user.

When I go into the system, I'll review the inspection, when it's scheduled for, what the scope of work is, and then I'll need to decide as the owner representative, if I'm going to attend, if I'm going to tell QC they need to attend, or if I'm going to request a reschedule. In our case, I'm going to say, Owner Attending. I'll add a note, click OK and update my changes. In summary, different project roles have the ability to cross workflows and go through statuses in different ways, depending on choices made in how the project runs.

So it's important to know how your project is expecting you, as an individual, to use the Inspections module for what situations, in conjunction with various teams on your project, and with full knowledge of the types of inspections you'll be scheduled for. Thanks for watching.
