In this video, we'll cover how dynamic headers can be set up by your admin for use within Compliance and Completions forms and tasks.
Dynamic headers are section headers that when set in place by your admin, pull in data from other InEight applications so that you're using a single source of data in your form.
There are three types of dynamic headers. An Inspection and Test Plan header is created when you integrate with components in Plan. Then create inspections and test plans and reference those ITPs to activities in the field through component activities.
The Component header also pulls in metadata from InEight Plan. This type of header allows for custom and dynamic component attribute association.
The third type of dynamic header is the Project Structure header. It's used when you want to pull in a project structure as defined in the platform's master data.
When using any of these headers, your admin must first have access to enable, manage, and edit these headers.
At the project level, for a specific role, this is done within Module Settings on the Project Settings tab.
At the project level, for any module, any of the toggles can be enabled within module settings on the Project Settings tab.
Whether you're building a new form or task, or want to use an existing form or task with a dynamic header, you'll need to make sure you've enabled dynamic headers on the Properties tab.
Let's briefly discuss the Project Structure header. It's important to know that for any project, the Project Structure must already be set up in Platform for this type of header to work.
Now we can set up the project structure header.
Let's first ensure the project structure is configured.
And with that confirmed, we can now publish the header.
Let's do the same sort of setup with the ITP header.
We'll first make sure to turn the toggle on here for the modules we want.
Then over in Plan within a project, you'll want to associate ITPs to a component in Quantity Tracking or in Work Packaging. Check out the associate ITPs video on Learn.InEight for more information on this process.
Back in Compliance or Completions, and in our module, here you can see the ITP header template at the top of the form or task.
When we open the inspections and test plans, we're able to create our ITPs, either by copying them from the org level or by creating our own.
The most important step is to select your templates that you've already set up with an ITP header in the Required Records field.

The Component Header
Now, let's talk about the final type of dynamic header, the Component header.
When enabled, here on the Project Settings tab, you'll be able to configure the header and display the metadata from planned components on the form. Let's take a look.
By adding this Attribute question type to the form, we build in Discipline or Commodity related metadata when the related component type is selected.
This functionality allows flexibility to show relevant fields and also to hide non relevant fields dynamically while performing a form.
Up to forty attributes can be added to the header space.
And once added, you can move them around into a sequence that will work best for the user when they perform the form.

Component Header and InEight Plan
In Plan, while this checkmark is not necessary for the component header to be configured, checking it will allow the component value in the drop-down to display during the perform form operation.
That means showing the component and its metadata in our forms is as simple as checking a box, and it can even be done in bulk.
Chapter
Identifying Templates to Headers
After the Component header is published, like the other dynamic templates, you need to identify which templates will get which headers.
One, two, or all three headers can be selected, but only one can be the Default Header.
You'll notice there's one thing unique to the Component header, and that is you can create multiple component headers to allow for discipline specificity.
Regardless of which type of dynamic header you use, when the user performs the form or task, the dynamic header is shown at the top.
So whether you're completing a form from within the module landing page, or if you're scheduling it... with any of the dynamic headers, you can select which type of header you'd like used, and select the properties to use when the form or task is performed.
And that's an overview of how dynamic headers can be set up by your admin for use within your Compliance and Completions forms and tasks. Thanks for watching!
