In this video, you'll learn how to use the Query Builder within the InEight SQC products to allow for more granular filtering with Events and Tasks.

There are three common use cases for using a query.

First, when your list of Events or Tasks is really large and you want to wait a filter the list down for ease and analysis or review.

Secondly, when you have a need to routinely query the data in the same manner and a safe query will increase your productivity.

And finally, when you have an effective query saved and you want to share it with others.

Let's start creating a query. From a project's module, landing page, select All Events or All Tasks.

Navigate to the top left corner. Here you see the Query Builder icon. Select it to open the query's panel.

To begin a query, select Add, and then select the Column drop-down arrow. Select the appropriate column name.

Next, select the Operator drop-down and find the option which best matches your need. Last, add a value under the Value column. You could continue to refine your query by adding additional operators.

Now, click Apply. If there's data that matches your query, it will appear on the right side. Select Save Query, name it, and click Save. Now your Save Query is listed under My Query.

To share this query, click on the query name to highlight it, and then click the Share icon.

Now that query is shared with others who have a similar permission as you have.

To delete a query, click on the query to highlight it, then select the Delete icon. If you've shared this query, not only will it delete the query for you, but also for all those you've shared it with.

This process works the same whether you're using Events or Tasks within InEight Compliance or InEight Completions. And of course, regardless of which product you're in, the column options are specific to each.
