Welcome to InEight Design. This video demonstrates how to configure work packages within Design Engineering.
By breaking down the project into work packages, engineers can ensure clarity, accountability, and efficient resource utilization.
While also promoting effective time management and facilitating coordination within the project team.
From the Design engineering module, Click here and select configure work packages.
The work package has two tabs, deliverable package, and engineering work package. Each tab shows packages associated to the project.
For this example, we'll work under the deliverable package tab.
Click here to add a new work package.
Complete the required fields under the overview.
You can also indicate an activity code, notes, construction need by date and discipline.
Work packages can also be created through export. The process is the same as any export feature in inmates products where you select export template, complete the required areas, save, and then import the file. The information then appears in the register.
Returning to a scope item, you can assign work packages to your items as needed.
When saved, Design will identify all the associated scope items to the selected work package.
Design will then aggregate all the scope items hours and percent complete for the selected work package.
Under the dates, it will pull in all the planned, current, and actual dates maintained.
It will take the earliest date of the selected scope items and make that the start date. For the finish date, the furthest one out will be assigned.
Let's click on a work package.
This opens the work packages overview page. You will see the work package summary information, which has two scope items associated to it. The percent complete, hours, and dates have all been aggregated from the scope items associated to the work package.
You can also drill into the scope items for additional scope information.
You have now watched how to configure work packages from InEight Design. Thanks for watching.
