Video - InEight Design - Update Quantity and Man-Hours

TRANSCRIPT

Welcome. This video demonstrates how forecasted quantities and man hours from InEight Design update related fields in InEight Control. Within the Design quantity forecasting module, as our designs have evolved, we've updated our forecasted quantities at each milestone, using those quantities to drive our design forecast takeoff quantity. Note that these quantity items, along with forecasted man hours, all roll up to this WBS phase code.

As we update these forecast takeoff quantities and man hours in Design, they will automatically update Design related fields in Control. In Control, the Design total quantity and Design total man hours columns are used for the values which have been updated from Design and here, we see the WBS item, our items in Design are rolling up to. As you make changes to your forecast quantity items in Design, those changes will be reflected here in Control. If you don't already have these columns in your view, you can add them by selecting choose columns or adding a new data block altogether.

In Control, you can review these latest Design quantity modifications and manually update your forecast takeoff quantity at the WBS level so it accurately reflects the latest Design information. One important thing to remember, quantities will only update from InEight Design to Control if the quantity items in Design have the same unit of measure as the WBS item they roll up to. Well, now you know how quantities and man hours update from InEight Design into InEight Control. Thanks for watching.
