InEight Model is cloud-hosted software with a Microsoft Windows-based application focused on 3D model content. Model is not a model-authoring environment; rather, it provides the capability to transform engineering and architectural models into construction and owner models.
The Model Windows application is supported by plug-ins and a locally stored cache folder (InEightModel_Cache). Before you download and run the Model application on your desktop, review the Client System and Mobile Device Requirements Specification.
Local admin permissions are required to install InEight Model.
In Model (integrated with Platform) you can create projects, user accounts, and assign permissions from Platform to have a unified user, project, and permission experience. When you create a new user account, the user receives a Welcome to InEight email with SSO login information.
You can install Model using the Welcome to InEight email you received when you were added to InEight Suite. When you install Model you can create a new project or select an existing project.
Click the Login button below the Login information section of the InEight welcome email. The InEight landing page opens.
To easily find the InEight landing page, you can save this page as a favorite in your browser.
Click Main menu > All projects & organizations.
To create a new project, click the Add project icon, and then enter information in the required and any optional fields.
To open an existing Model project, click the project link to open.
On the project page, click Model
When you select Model from the Project home page for the first time, you must click Download to save the Model Launcher file to your computer.
Save the InEightModel.exe file to your device.
You can alternatively go to https://ineight.com/ineight-software-downloads/ in your web browser, and click Model Installer – Download under InEight Model to begin downloading the InEightModel.exe file to your computer. After the download is complete, double-click the file to run the application.
Double-click the InEightModel.exe file to open the Model Launcher Setup window to install Model.
Sign in to Model using your credentials and account.
In Model, you can click File > Load project to open a Model project.
The Load Project dialog box shows Model projects created in Platform.
To access Model, you must be set as an active user with applicable Model permissions in InEight Platform.
The project must be enabled for Model in the project’s Global Option’s Product integrations section.
The Load Project dialog box shows Model projects from Platform.
Under InEight Model, select Model Installer - Download to begin downloading the InEightModel.exe file to your computer.
After the download is complete, double-click the InEightModel.exe file to run the application.
