Document issue integration

You can link Model issues with InEight Document forms. Linking issues with Document lets you have a single repository for issues, reducing the manual process and providing scalability.

Issues created in Model can be linked to a Document form by selecting the Add or Link buttons in the Documents section of the issue.

To link an issue, it must first be created and saved.

  • Add

The Add button gives you the option to link an issue to a new form type in Document. ClosedRead more

Click Add, and then click the Select Form Type to create drop-down list to select from the form types available for the job.

Document opens with the newly created form type for you to fill out and save.

  • Link

The Link button gives you the option to link an issue to an existing form in Document. ClosedRead more

When you click Link, Document opens the search page. You can click the Search criteria for drop-down list and optionally set filters to search for the applicable form, and then select from the work items in the Selected work items to link window.

You must update your Model project for the Document links to show.

After you add or link an issue, a message shows at the top of the issue stating that the issue is being managed by Document. The link to the document shows in the Documents section of the issue.

To open the issue in Document, click the ID link.

Model issues linked to Document cannot be modified. When the issue form is closed in Document, you can then take action on the issue in Model.
