With an understanding of how to create master presets, let's look at how to create effective master presets for your project.
Say you want to focus on just one section of your model and you want to quickly navigate back to that section. Master Presets will capture and save the settings of your model as you select them in the Master Presets Editor.
Let's compare these master presets.
The master presets on the left have only one setting saved, while those on the right have several selected.
Notice, we end up with very different outcomes. That's because these master presets only have one setting, so we're only seeing one aspect of the model view that we wanted to preserve.
To capture the entire view, select all applicable settings in the Master Presets Editor. This keeps a clean record and allows you to quickly navigate back to this view. If you encounter a master preset that doesn't look right, prepare your model again, then edit your master preset to update it and correctly save your model view.
And if your workspace dramatically shifts, you've likely selected a master preset that includes a saved workspace. Workspaces can be very tricky if you're working within a team because your workspace may look totally different than your teammate's. And they could lose a lot of time and energy trying to get their bearings.
Avoid selecting workspaces unless it's critical to the context you need to share in your master preset. And if you encounter workspace work, remove the workspace setting and update your master preset.
