Create Custom Views

TRANSCRIPT

This video demonstrates how to create custom views in Innate Schedule.

Column Set Builder

We will look at the column set builder menu first.

This menu lets you add and remove columns in the plan, markup, and schedule review views.

Click here to open the column set builder.

From this screen, you can choose from the available columns on the left to create customized column layouts.

First, we need to give the column set an appropriate name. Then for this example, we'll select the location code column, the cost column, and using the search here, also add ID column under the general heading.

Using the arrows here, we can move the different columns to exactly where we want the details to be displayed.

You can also remove columns of information we don't need.

Once you're done creating the exact column layout you need, click the save button here to apply the new column layout.

With all the builder menus, they have a recent section that show you the last three most recently used saved or applied column set, query, or group by, which can be applied again by selecting it from the list.

Query Builder

Next, let's look at the query builder menu.

The query builder menu lets you set column filters in the plan, markup, schedule review, and cost risk views.

Click here to open the query builder.

First, we need to give the query an appropriate name.

Then you can choose to add a filter or group of filters to the query.

From the drop down list, we can select any column in the schedule even if it's not displayed. But for now, we'll just select the location code column.

Select an operator from the drop down list here, and from the final drop down, we need to select the value we want to be displayed. We'll select p w for project wide.

So this query will show any entries that in the location code column have an entry that is equal to project wide.

Now we could add more filters to this query or add a group value to this query also, but we'll keep it simple for this example.

Note that if you add multiple filters or groups in this query, you can change the query from an and query to an or query just by changing the operator here.

Once you've entered in all the needed details of the query, click save to apply the query to the view.

The view now only shows project wide activities.

Now let's look at the sort builder menu.

Sort Builder

The sort builder menu lets you sort columns in the plan, markup, schedule review, and cost risk views.

To open the sort builder menu, click here.

First step is to give my sort an appropriate name.

Then you can choose up to ten columns to sort in ascending and descending order.

From the column drop down, we'll select cost and sort the values in descending order.

If you want to add more columns to sort from, you just need to click here to add another column to sort by and make your selections from the drop down list. Once you have selected all the columns you want to sort by, click the save button to apply it to your view.

Your view is now in descending order by cost values in the cost column.

Next, let's look at the group by builder menu.

The group by builder menu lets you group columns in the plan, markup, and schedule review views.

Group By Builder

The group by builder menu has some system generated options you can use here, And you can always revert to the default grouping by clicking here.

Now click here to open the group by builder.

First step is to give the group by an appropriate name.

Then from the drop down list, select the column or multiple columns you want to group by.

In this example, we'll use the ID column to group our view by. Once you've selected the columns to group by, click save.

The view is now grouped by resource ID.

Last but not least, let's look at the view builder menu.

The view builder menu lets you combine operators from the other build menus and shown in the plan, markup, and schedule review views.

View Builder

If you want to save the current view, you can click here, or to build a new view, click here.

First step is to give the view an appropriate name.

Then from one or multiple drop downs, you can select save column sets, saved queries, saved sorts, or saved group by presets.

If you choose one or more of the builder menus to use in a view, they'll be highlighted on the toolbar.

Once you have selected the builder menus you want to view, click save.

Now your custom view has been loaded, and you can save multiple views so you can view your scheduled data exactly how you need it. You can go back to the default view by opening the view menu and click here.

Share Views

Any custom views you create can be shared with users of the schedule. To share a view, click the ellipses next to the saved view.

Then, select share.

Once shared, the view will appear to all users of the schedule in the shared menu for the relevant view.

Well, that gives you an overview of the view builder menus in an eight schedule. Thanks for watching.
