Welcome to InEight schedule. This video demonstrates the various methods you can use to define productivity rates for different activities and the impact this has on your costs and task durations. You will begin in the plan view under Iris Smart Planning, using a project that has activities created. To view productivity rates select an activity and open the smart planning panel here On the right side of your screen, you have two methods available to define duration with manual or productivity rate driven.
The manual method is very simple. To leverage this, you simply type in a duration and to define these parameters. The other option you have available is to utilize rate driven productivity. Clicking on the set productivity rate button gives you your options for accomplishing this unit rate or man hour rate.
First, you can enter a rate description, the quantity output, the unit of management you use in your rate calculation. Next, you can define how many hours, days, or weeks it will take to complete the quantity defined in your output field. You can also define your cost per output if you are capturing costs in InEight schedule. Under the work section, you can define the total units to be completed for this task, as well as how many crews you will have assigned to this task.
Once you have finished entering your data InEight schedule tells you how long and what the cost will be to complete this activity. The other rate driven productivity option you have available is to utilize man hour rate. Select man hour rate, and you can first enter a rate description, the quantity output, and the unit of measurement you use in your rate calculation. Next, you can define how many man hours it would take to complete the quantity defined in your output field.
You can also define your cost per man hour if you are capturing costs in InEight schedule. Under the work section, you can define the total man hours to be completed for this task, as well as how many crews you will have assigned to this task. Once you have finished entering your data InEight schedule tells you how long and what the cost will be to complete this activity. Finally, looking below, you can see the InEight schedule provides suggestions based on other projects you've completed.
To leverage this functionality, simply click on a dot next to the desired rate and type in the appropriate quantity and the crew number under work to populate duration and cost levering historic data.
