Video - InEight Schedule - Productivity Rates

TRANSCRIPT

This video shows how to set productivity rates for activities in InEight Schedule.

From the plan view, select an activity and open the smart planning panel on the right side of the screen.

Manual Entry

Here, you can manually enter activity details, such as start and finish dates, plan duration, remaining days, and associated cost.

Chapter

Using Rate-Driven Productivity Approach

Alternatively, you can use the rate-driven productivity approach by selecting the set productivity rate button. To define a productivity rate, start by entering a description, then specify the remaining quantity and its unit of measurement. Next, define the rate and indicate whether it's based on hours, days, or weeks. If cost tracking is enabled in InEight Schedule, you can also enter the cost per unit and the man-count.

Calculating Total Cost

Once all details are entered, click calculate cost. InEight Schedule, we'll automatically calculate the total cost, unit rate, and remaining duration for the activity.

Alternative Calculation Methods

You can also calculate the productivity rate using the output, duration, and duration unit fields shown here.

Suggested Productivity Rates from Previous Projects

In the lower section of the panel, InEight Schedule suggests productivity rates based on data from previous projects. Click adopt to populate the fields using one of these suggested rates. All values can still be adjusted if required. When you're finished, click Apply rate.

Updating Activity Duration and Gantt Chart

The activity duration will update. The productivity rate icon will appear next to the activity on the Gantt chart, and the set productivity rate button will turn orange.

Setting Productivity Rates through Resource Assignments

Productivity rates can also be set through resource assignments. When resources are assigned to an activity, opening the set productivity rate screen will display those resources. If required, you can select which resource assignment is driving the duration using the radio buttons. After clicking Apply rate, the plan will update in the same way. The activity duration is recalculated, the productivity rate icon appears on the Gantt chart, and the button changes to orange. And that's how to define productivity rates for activities in an age schedule. Thanks for watching.
