Video - InEight Schedule - Short Interval Planning Resources

TRANSCRIPT

Welcome to InEight Schedule. This video demonstrates how to create and assign SIP resources to your short interval plan and the functionality available to you after the SIP resource assignment. You'll begin on the short interval planning view using a project that has activities and steps created to view activities with steps. Simply expand your schedule structure to the terminal level.

At this point, depending on your permissions, you'll be able to view, assign, edit SIP resources on steps. Select the add resource button next to the step description. Once you've selected the add resource button, a screen will appear that gives you multiple options. You can add and assign a new SIP resource.

Assign a unit of measurement to the SIP resource, assign units and select a color for the SIP resource. Or you can select an existing SIP resource from your scheduled library and adjust as characteristics on this screen. Once you have assigned a SIP resource to a step, you can begin to apply different view options to your short interval plan. These options include the resource collision annotation, which allows you to see by an orange outline on a daily task, where you have the same resource assigned to multiple daily tasks on the same day indicating a collision.

Also included in these options is the color coding toggle, which allows you to see by color coding, which resources are assigned to what steps, and if the same SIP resource has overlapping work occurring, which could indicate a collision. Additionally, a SIP resource histogram is provided within view options, which will turn on the histogram at the bottom of the screen. The histogram shows the spread of the units from the SIP resources assigned to steps in sip. The histogram is capable of showing a stacked visual for you to track between multiple resources.

These features allow you to bring in resource management into your projects, short interval plans, or tracking towards your projects plan, view plan in InEight schedule. Well, that's how easy it is to create and assigned SIP resources in InEight schedule. Thanks for watching.
