Video - InEight Schedule - Short Interval Planning Steps

TRANSCRIPT

Welcome to InEight schedule. In this video, we'll demonstrate how to create SIP steps and the functionality available after the SIP step creation. From the plan view, open the navigation dropdown and select short interval planning. You'll need to be using a project that has activities created.

To view activities simply expand your schedule structure to the terminal level. At this point, depending on your permissions, you'll be able to add SIP steps to activities. Select the add button next to the activity ID description. Once you have added a sip step, additional functionality is available.

By hovering over the newly created sip step you'll be presented with icons that allow you to zoom to the start of the step, add a comment, assign a sip resource, or delete the step. Also, you can edit a steps detail with inline editing on screen. By clicking the start end days or the planner dropdown menu, you can edit the steps as needed. Another option to adjust SIP steps is by taking advantage of the click and drag functionality available to you in the step Gantt chart.

By clicking on a sip step daily task, you can drag the step daily task left or right on screen. Once you have landed on the preferred date, simply release the step daily task and the step start and end fields will update accordingly. The blue and or red elements presented to you in the Gantt chart at the activity level are the reference points for your projects planner or planners to adjust their SIP steps against when planning their daily tasks, giving you a direct reference back to the projects plan from the plan view in InEight schedule. By adding multiple SIP steps under an activity, a planner can begin to create detailed short interval schedules for the project, allowing project teams to quickly collaborate, update, and to verify their short interval plans against the project's plan, as well as other team members adjusted plans to achieve their goals.

Well, that covers how to create SIP steps and additional sip step functionality in InEight schedule. Thanks for watching.
