Welcome to InEight Schedule. This video demonstrates how to set up and use the short interval planning tool. The InEight schedule, short interval planning or SIP tool enables collaboration of workforce planning and the projects schedule, which can greatly improve efficiency and productivity. As a scheduler, you'll set up the project whether you are importing or updating a project.
You'll start with the schedule. To view your schedule, simply navigate to the plan project view. Next, if you have not set your project's general information up, you can do so under project settings by selecting schedule configuration. On the general tab, select edit to add or update any details.
Then click save. Next, as a scheduler, you'll assign contributors to the project. On the contributors tab, select add and select the new user's name. In regards to interval planning, you can give your new user the scheduler role, or short interval planning role.
A user with the short interval planning role would be a superintendent or foreman who can execute, edit, and plan their assigned activities. Click add to assign the new contributor to the project. Select the SIP resources tab. As a scheduler, you'll have the option to create SIP resources for your contributors by clicking add, Then Defining their name, unit of measurement, and color.
For example, concrete crew input the crew name and how many hours per day they will work. Now you'll navigate back to the plan view to assign interval planning to the schedule by a flow down approach. In our schedule displayed, let's locate the construction for the foundations and the schedule item of pour and cure. Click on the delegation tab in iris.
Click here and a dialogue box appears where you can select one or more project contributors to add to this project. Then click save. Now that we've assigned project contributors for a short interval planning, we can plan interval steps for contributors of a schedule item by navigating to the short interval plan view, locate the schedule item of pour and cure. It's important to know that as a scheduler, you can plan interval steps for any short interval planner.
To do this, you'll create a new step for the SIP planner by clicking the plus icon. In the add a step dialogue box enter your description of the step. Then you can add a SIP resource on the fly by selecting add resource, or select the available SIP resources in the dropdown list that are assigned to your planner. Again, once a SIP resource is selected, you can change the quantity, unit of measure and color as needed.
Then the output fields will be adjusted accordingly based on your inputs. You've now created a base of interval steps that need to be completed for the SIP planner. Now your SIP planner can confirm, edit, or carry out the interval steps of the assigned scheduled item. Well, that's how to use short interval planning in InEight schedule.
