InEight Contract - Contract Configurations

TRANSCRIPT

Not everyone's contracts behave the same way and meet your organization's needs. Organizational settings have been set to where you can really customize and tailor your contract types to fit the business needs of that contract type. As an example, in a service agreement, you might have all these things turned on because you fully expect to use them for that type of contract. Selecting what you want turned on and off allows each contract to be customized to suit those business needs.

Now, if you move down to this type, you'll not expect to see back charges. You're not going to use any kind of depot retention or track equipment details, nor do you need liquidated damages, technical field assistance or closeout. Notice right away that there are no tabs for backup charges or a closeout because those have been turned off. Also, notice the accordion is smaller.

There's not a liquidated damages or technical field. Since they said an invoice plan was not applicable for this type of contract, this field is disabled. You cannot turn it on. Also note you cannot use an invoice plan for this type of contract since you indicated no default retention.

You still can put a retention on this type of contract, just one is not going to default based on the contract type. Look at the line items for this contract. There are no equipment details that you can add, and the over-delivery tolerance is at zero and it's grade out. Having the ability to customize and tailor your contract types helps to fit the business needs of that contract type.
