Video - InEight Estimate - CBS Bid Wizard

TRANSCRIPT

When working in the CBS, you can use the CBS Bid Wizard to add additional cost items to your structure. A key to using the CBS Bid Wizard is that you must already have a cost item created to copy items into.

In this case, let's Create a new cost item and call it Asphalt Concrete Hot Mix. For the Takeoff Quantity, enter 10,000 tons.

Perhaps you recall that you did the same kind of mix not too long ago in a previous job, and you want to reuse the cost items you created. From the More Actions tab, select the Bid Wizard icon. Click in the Source Job field for your new Asphalt Concrete Hot Mix cost item, and click on the dropdown arrow.

The job register opens for you to select the source job to copy from. Select the Training Job, then click OK. With the Training Job selected, click in the Source CBS Position Code field, and click on the dropdown arrow to select from the training job CBS.

Scroll down, and select the Asphalt Concrete Hot Mix Type A cost item.

Note that in the previous job, the Takeoff Quantity was 35,000 tons.

Click OK to select the cost item. Then click Finish to bring the cost item into your new estimate.

An attention prompt appears, asking if you would like to Adjust Quantity and cost drivers and shift arrangements. With the options to adjust to your new estimate selected, click OK.

The subordinate cost items for asphalt concrete from your training job are now added to your new cost item. Note that the quantities adjusted to your new takeoff quantity of 10,000 tons.
