From the Cash Flow form, on the Actions tab, you have cash flow Display Settings that allow you to control what information displays on the cash flow graph. Within the Display Settings, you can change settings to your liking and save them for future use from the Settings drop-down menu. In the Period section, you can select how the graph measures the timing of your cash flow. Select "week" from the drop-down list.
In the cost item section, you can select the cost and pricing to display and specify what their colors will be on the Graph. Select "total cost forecast", "total price forecast", "total cost forecast - cash" and "total price forecast - cash." Also select "cash flow" and "finance cost". In the Cost Category section, you can select what costs you want to display by cost category on the graph.
Check the Estimated box for the Labor and Owned Equipment categories. Now that you've set your display settings, click OK. Your cash flow graph displays your cost based on the settings you specified. The dashed red line is the Total Cost Forecast indicating you accrued cost based on when your cost items are scheduled.
The dashed green line indicates the revenue you've earned based on the timing of your pay items. The solid red line indicates your cost based on when your cost items are scheduled and the cost timing defined in cash flow options. The solid green line indicates your revenue based on the timing of your pay items and the revenue timing defined in cash flow options. Last, the gray bars indicate when your cash flow is negative or positive, and the blue line shows your finance cost.
Also note the cash flow graph displays the cost categories that you selected. You can also filter your graph by date range by clicking on the Start drop-down arrow and selecting a start date and then selecting an end date. Now your graph will only include your cost items that fall within the specified date range. Perhaps you want to view when certain resources will be used during the project.
Once again, open Display Settings. Uncheck the boxes under the Cost Items and Cost Category sections and under Resources select Resource Utilization. You want to see what the scheduled utilization is for your 225 excavator, along with its projected costs, or summarize resources by select resource code. Scroll down to your EX225 Excavator and select it.
Select a color for the quantity. On the graph, the quantity will be the number of hours that type of excavator is utilized. Select a color for the excavator's cost as well. Under a Quantity and Cost below, you can indicate how to display the values on the graph.
For Quantities, select "bar", and for Cost, select "line". Then click OK. You can now see when your 225 Excavator will be in use, how many hours each week, and the cost.
