Video - InEight Estimate - Cell Select

TRANSCRIPT

Welcome to InEight Estimate. To copy and paste data in InEight Estimate or to Excel, you can use a feature called Cell Select. Within each register and grid of information, you can use Cell Select to copy particular cells that you then drag and drop. In this example, you need to copy some of your resource information to Excel where you plan to make some adjustments. From the Saved Views drop-down list, select Print View for Summary.

Using Cell Select

Click on the Cell Select icon to activate cell selection mode. Note that your cursor is now a white + icon when you hover over the grid of the register.

Copying Specific Information

With your cursor, highlight all the information in the description, utilization count, and unit of measure columns for all labor resources. Right-click on the selection, and select Copy. Open your Excel workbook and right-click in the spreadsheet and select Paste. Your selection is now copied from InEight Estimate to Excel.

Deactivating Cell Select

Back in InEight Estimate, be sure to deselect the Cell Select icon to deactivate the cell select mode. Otherwise, you won't be able to use your cursor to perform regular functions such as opening cost items and resource records. And that's how easy it is to use the Cell Select feature in InEight Estimate. Thanks for watching.
