TRANSCRIPT

To copy and paste data in InEight Estimate or to Excel, you can use a feature called Cell Select. Within each register and grid of information you can use Cell Select to copy particular cells that you drag and drop over. You need to copy some of your resource information to Excel where you plan to make some adjustments, From the Estimate landing page, select the Setup tab and open the Resource Rate Register. Then go to the Labor tab.

From the Saved Views drop-down list, select the Print View For Summary view. Click on the Cell Select icon to activate cell select mode. Note that your cursor now is a white + icon when you hover over the grid of the register. In this mode, you can now highlight the fields you want to copy.

With your cursor, highlight all the information in the Description, Unit of Measure, and Uutilization Count columns for all Labor resources. Right-click on the selection and select Copy. Open the Excel workbook you want to copy, right-click in the spreadsheet and select Paste. Your selection is now copied from InEight Estimate to Excel.

Back in InEight Estimate., be sure to de-select Cell Select to de-activate the cell select mode. Otherwise, you won't be able to use your cursor to perform regular functions such as opening cost items and resource records.
