Accessing the Library Resource Rate Register

To access the Library Resource Rate Register from the Backstage View, select Library from the side menu. When the library opens, select the Setup tab, then select the Resource Rates icon to open the Library Resource Rates Register. Installed materials, installed equipment, and supplies are all quantity-driven resources, and have the same options on their individual records. You can create an installed material resource by clicking on the Actions menu and clicking the New icon.

Setting Up Material Rate and Description

In the Code field enter MGBP, then press Tab. In the Description field type "brick pavers." Select "square feet" from the Unit of Measure (UM) drop-down list. On the Setup tab, under Resource File, select "standard material rate file."

Adjusting Charge Rates and Taxes

On the Charge Rate tab, expand the cost category breakdown to view installed and undefined materials. Enter $5 in the Amount field for Installed Materials. Notice there's a Fees category that contains sales taxes. By default, this is calculated from the sales tax defined in your job properties.

Customizing Sales Tax Rate

You can uncheck the Apply Standard Tax checkbox to enter your own unique sales tax rate, should you have certain materials that come from an area with a different tax rate. In this case, uncheck the box and enter 6%. Click OK to close and save the resource. You would follow the same steps for creating Installed Equipment and Supplies resources.
