While the Bid Wizard is an efficient way to copy Pay and Cost Items from other projects into new projects, you may prefer to use edit commands such as copy and paste to bring cost history into your estimate. To copy and paste from one job to another, it's beneficial to see the jobs side by side. Note there are two projects open, 1000 BW and the Training job with the CBS Register in each job. And since they're in their own windows, you can align them side by side.
In the training job CBS Register right-click on the row header for cost item 4, Aggregate Base, and select Copy. In the CBS Register for the 1000 BW project, right-click on the row header for the bottom blank row and select Paste. A prompt appears asking if you would like to keep the pay rules and shift arrangements for the items you're copying, or if you want to adjust them to match the job you're copying to. With the Adjust Pay Rules Options selected, click OK.
Aggregate Base with all of its subordinates is now copied into your new project. You can also use drag and drop to copy cost items from one project to another. From the Training job, select the 36 inch RCP cost item and drag and drop it into the bottom blank row of your new job. Click OK and the 36 inch pipe cost item with its subordinates copies over.
You can also use the same copy and paste or drag and drop functionality for Pay Items in the Pay Item and Proposal Register.
