As you work within InEight Estimate, you can make simple mathematical calculations within any numerical field. For example, as you estimate how much sandblasting is needed for painting a steel bridge structure, you want to make a simple takeoff calculation to determine the quantity. Click in the Forecast Takeoff Quantity field for your Sandblast cost item. Similar to Excel, to initiate a calculation within the field, press the = symbol. Next type 10 times 250. Press the Tab key, and the simple equation calculates to give you the result of 2,500.
