InEight Estimate provides a built-in workflow for managing your quotes consisting of three steps. One, creating and publishing requests for quotes' RDQs. Two, updating quotes with vendor and subcontractor pricing. Three, comparing and awarding quotes.

InEight Estimate has a separate form to manage each step. In InEight Estimate you manage quotes from suppliers at the resource level and quotes for subcontractors at the cost item level. You can use quote groups to group together multiple resources or cost items that will be sent to a vendor or subcontractor. To manage quote groups at the resource level, open the Resource Rate register, then click on the Installed Material tab.

In the Quote Group column, you can assign quote groups to your resources to group them together. For the Pipe PVC resource, select "pipe materials" from the quote group drop-down list. This resource will now be included with your other pipe materials when using that quote group for vent quotes. Open the CBS register.

For your Guardrail Work, you plan to use a subcontractor. Assign the Guardrail Work quote group to the Guardrail Type 2 and Guardrail Type 3A cost items. This will make it easy to select both of these items at once when creating a quote. You can create and delete the quote group tags themselves from the Foundation Setup Data register.

From the Quote tab, click on the Quote Group Tags. This opens up to the Foundation Setup Data Register, to the Quote Group Tags tab. From here, you can add or edit the quote groups that show up on the Quote Group drop-down list. Close the form by clicking the X on the Foundation Setup Data register tab.
