Video - InEight Estimate - Quotes

TRANSCRIPT

When receiving responses back from the Request for Quotes register, the next step is to enter the subcontractor pricing into quote records. Let's select the Quote tab and select Quotes to open the Quote register. The Quote register stores all the quotes you have for the job. Similar to RFQs, we can create new quotes directly from the Quote register.

Since we have already created RFQs, we can convert them into quotes automatically. To do so, let's go back to the RFQ register. From the Quote tab, select Request for Quote, right-click on the row header for "aggregates" and select Open. On the Seller Companies tab, select all three vendors, and on the Actions tab, select Create Quote.

A prompt appears, telling you three quotes were created. Select OK. Click back to the Quote register. We now have three aggregate quote records.

Right-click on the row header for Vendor 1 - Pat Roberts, and select Open. The Quote Record screen utilizes data blocks allowing for the repositioning of tabs, detaching tabs into individual windows, and re-docking tabs into new locations. The header block automatically fills with contact information about the subcontractor from the address book. To the right of the contact information, it's possible to ignore a quote, which will turn the quote gray in this current screen, and also in the Quote Comparison & Award screen.

The price block contains a breakdown of pricing information. The default data blocks tab includes special terms and conditions, qualifications, packages, seller's profile, and setup and minority. It's possible to move the entire block or individual data blocks to the other parts of the screen. On the Resources tab, make sure No Split is unchecked for all the items.

This indicates the seller is willing to sell items separately in the unit price field. For "aggregate base rock" enter $8, enter $6 for "dirt class B." On the Special Terms & Conditions data block, we can specify additional terms we have with the seller, including additional costs that the seller specifies such as mobilization costs. Click OK to close the record.

Open the quote for Vendor 2 - Stan Mark. Enter a "unit price" of $7.45 for "aggregate based rock". This vendor didn't give you a quote for the "dirt class B", so let's delete it from the record by right-clicking and selecting Delete, click OK.to

close the record. Open the quote for vendor 4 - Lester Slim. Vendor 4 said he will include the "dirt class B" with "aggregate base rock" for a price of $8.15. Enter "8.15"

in the Unit Price field with the "aggregate base rock" by checking the Free check box for "dirt class B." Make sure No Split is checked for both items since the vendor is not willing to sell the item separately. Once finished, click OK to close the record.
