Welcome to InEight Estimate. This video demonstrates how to set up templates. As you build estimates, you have work types or disciplines that you typically work in, often involving the same or similar tasks from job to job. You may want to store these standard cost items in a template you can draw from for future projects.
To access your templates and create new ones, select the File tab to go to the Backstage View, select Templates, and then Template Register. Here you can access any templates you've already created if you want to add to or edit them. From here, there are two options for creating new templates.
You can create new templates from scratch. Just select the job level within the OBS and complete the remaining fields. Or, you may want to need a head start by creating a template from an existing job. Let's assume that this job contains much of the work you typically do for small projects. On the New Template dialog, name your new template, and click OK. You've now created another new template to draw from, and both reside in the Template Register, separate from the jobs stored in your Job Register.
Let's say you want to start a new estimate. Go back to the Backstage View and select New. You have several options available for creating a new job. Let's create this job based off one of your new templates. Select this one, and click OK. In the resulting dialog, add the code for the new job. Click OK and the new job is created from your template.
That covers how to create templates in InEight Estimate. Thanks for watching.
