Video - InEight Progress - Daily Plan Process Overview

TRANSCRIPT

Welcome to InEight Progress. In this video, you'll learn about working with daily plans in the planning, execution, and approval stage. A daily plan specifies the tasks to be completed by a work crew. Following a daily plan helps teams meet budget, quantity, safety, and quality targets.

Daily plans start in the planning phase. This phase is typically prepared by the planner, superintendent, or field engineer. You can create a daily plan in InEight Plan from a work package. Or, from InEight Progress, you can create one from scratch or from a copy.

Notice the daily plan appears in blue to show that it's in planning. You can add details, tasks, resources, and planned quantities. You can also include notes or issues and check your productivity based on the values you input. When you're satisfied with your daily plan, click Submit.

Now you're in the execution phase and the plan has turned green. The execution phase is usually handled by the foreman and allows you to capture activities from the field. During execution, you can enter installed quantities and actual hours worked and organize employee sign in and sign out. You can also add notes or issues and view productivity in real time With your daily plan completed and the details confirmed, you're ready to submit the plan for approval.

The plan is now purple, as it's awaiting approval by a supervisor, such as a superintendent or engineer. During the approval phase, the hours and quantities can be approved as is, or if the approver would like something changed, the plan can be edited or sent back to the execution phase. When all three phases have been completed, the plan is submitted. Claimed quantities are now synced with InEight Plan and InEight Control, and employee hours are sent ahead for payroll processing.

Note that all phases of the planning process can be completed through the web or mobile versions of InEight Progress, and any changes will update automatically across these applications. Now you've learned the process for completing a daily plan. Thanks for watching!
