Video - InEight Progress - Time Card Management

TRANSCRIPT

Welcome to InEight Progress. In this video, you'll learn how to manage time cards in Time Center.

Time Center supports the review and management of time after it's been collected. It brings together data entered through daily plans or weekly time sheets, and provides a place to review entries, resolve issues, and make adjustments before hours are sent to payroll.

Time card visibility in Time Center

Time cards become visible in Time Center when a daily plan moves into execution, or when a time sheet is saved in Weekly Time Sheet. At this point, entries are read-only and reflect work that's still in progress.

Note that any changes made to a daily plan will become visible in Time Center once the daily plan is graduated to a new status. After a daily plan is approved, or after a weekly time sheet is submitted, the time cards become editable in Time Center.

Address issues

When you open Time Center, you'll start on the Issues tab. Here you can review any issues or errors on the time cards. To see details, hover over the indicator.

To address an issue, you can return to the daily plan to track down more info, fix the errors directly in Time Center, or send the time card as is. Let's look at how to make updates within Time Center.

You can review and edit time cards directly, including correcting inaccuracies, making adjustments, and applying overrides where appropriate. Note that unsaved changes are marked with blue dots.

You can save your work without submitting the time cards to payroll. To view the daily plan that the time card is associated with, click the plan ID. Your saved changes will be visible back on the daily plan.

Manage time card records

In addition to editing individual fields, you also have tools for managing entire time card records. From the top menu, you can add, delete, or copy a time card.

Click the Information icon to see the version history for a selected time card.

If you need to move time cards to a new project, use Time card reallocation or Bulk edit, depending on your project details.

To export all the time card data to an Excel spreadsheet, click \[the Export icon].

Send time cards to payroll

Once you've completed your review, your time cards are ready to send to payroll. Note that the total number of employees, hours, and time cards is displayed at the bottom of the screen. This can help you keep track of your data when using filters or queries.

Select the time cards and click Send selected. You'll get a confirmation message before the time cards are sent.

Now you've learned how to review, edit, and send time cards in Time Center. Thanks for watching.
